LazyTown and Change4Life team up to motivate young children
LazyTown and Change4Life have decided to team up to inspire pre-school children around the UK to be more active, eat more SportsCandy and have fun while doing it.
3,600 Sure Start Children’s Centres around the UK have received Change4Life activity packs featuring Sportacus and Stephanie from LazyTown. The packs are full of fun and exciting ideas for group activities for children to engage in at the Sure Start Centres, under supervision from their teachers. To follow up the initiative at home, a special parents’ pack has also been developed containing fun activities and SportsCandy recipes. Wall charts and stickers are included in both packs to help the children track their activities on their way to becoming as active as Sportacus and Stephanie.
Eating well and being active can help prevent children developing serious illnesses later in life. New physical activity guidelines show that once a child can walk they should be physically active for at least three hours a day.
New research performed by PCP Research Consultants has revealed that LazyTown’s very own SuperHero, Sportacus, is the healthiest children’s character on UK television. As such, Sportacus sets a great example for children to be active, eat well and have fun.
